Massimo, Gertrude’s son, between bruschetta topped with Rajo oil and a typical dish of fave cotto cooked by his mother Gertrude, tells the story of the family when, in 1956 Felice Contessa di Stroncone bought the farmhouse.
He remembers his grandmother Marcella, the mainstay of the family, and here the tale becomes more intimate and nostalgic. “At that time, some fodder was produced, some honey with eight beehives, and some oil for personal use.”
Forerunners of hospitality in this part of the region, they soon decided to become Agriturismo, starting with two apartments and a clear vision of the potential of this little-known part of Umbria. “Ours is license No. 2,” Massimo recounts.”

As a result of the renovation, the farm now has more accommodation, 10 apartments overlooking the olive grove where you can pause for a moment of peace or from which you can set off on hiking or biking tours.

The farmhouse, overlooks a valley planted with olive trees kissed by the sun from dawn to dusk and protected to the north by the hillside. The altitude of 400 meters above sea level, combined with the purity of the air mean that even in summer the heat is never muggy. Relaxation is guaranteed by a swimming pool nestled in an exceptional setting, the olive grove.
The farmhouse is the hub of the business; tastings and direct sales also take place here. Yes because “farmhouse customers who come from all over the world inevitably become regular oil customers.”
