The trekking on Saturday, April 15th, 2023, will take place in Amelia (TR) along the newly established \"Cammino di Germanico,\" guided by trekker Federica Figliuolo from 2f-hiking.it and by the poet and \"paesologist\" Franco Arminio.<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

At the end, there will be a tasting of the culinary excellence products of the area: Rajo extra virgin olive oil, the Slow Food Presidium Cooked Fava Beans, Amerini cold cuts, and wines<\/strong><\/p>

After the event on Saturday, April 1st, the first edition of the \u201cUmbria Primavera in Cammino<\/strong><\/a>\u201d festival continues on Saturday, April 15th, 2023. This outdoor<\/strong> initiative aims to explore \u201cLe Terre dei Borghi Verdi<\/a>\u201d and the 21 municipalities belonging to the province of Terni that are part of it. Guided excursions will be led by 5 of the most important hiking influencers in Italy.<\/p>

The setting for the second weekend of the festival will be the landscapes of “Amerino Tipico”<\/strong>\u00a0with a hike in the municipality of Amelia (TR)<\/strong>. Here, a poetry walk is scheduled, led by two exceptional influencers: trekker Federica Figliuolo<\/strong> from 2f-hiking<\/strong> and the poet “paesologist” Franco Arminio. They will guide the itinerary along the newly established “Cammino di Germanico”<\/strong> a route that connects the center of Amelia to its seven hamlets, intertwining with the network of Amerini Trails. It takes its name from the most illustrious guest of the local archaeological museum, the bronze statue of the Roman general Nero Claudius Drusus Germanicus, found in the surroundings of the Umbrian city in the 1960s.<\/p>

The proposed itinerary will be divided into two stages<\/strong>, corresponding to the first two sections of the Cammino di Germanico. The first stage will start from the Civic Museum of Amelia at 9:00 AM<\/strong>, passing through the Winter Gardens, the location where the famous statue was found. These gardens offer splendid views of the Tiber Valley<\/strong>, and the route continues through the locality of Sambucetole<\/strong>, where the medieval castle of the same name is located. This castle, referred to in ancient inscriptions as castrum S. Bucetoli, served as a military outpost for the municipality of Amelia. The second stage will traverse places steeped in history<\/strong> along the ancient border between Amelia and Todi, extending to the castle of Collicello<\/strong>, one of the most well-preserved Amerini fortresses. For centuries, it served as a defensive stronghold for Amelia against the people of Todi.<\/p>

In addition to the natural environment and the historical and artistic landmarks of the area, the initiative<\/strong> will shine a spotlight on the “Amerino Tipico. Land, Flavors, and Community”<\/strong> project. This project is a development and enhancement strategy for food and landscape involving 11 administrations of Amerino. It will be the focus of the tasting session<\/strong> scheduled for 6:00 PM, with the participation of five producers of culinary excellences from the area.<\/p>

A particular focus will be dedicated to the Cooked Fava Beans of Amerino, a Slow Food Presidium, by the Fava Cottora Association of Amerino.<\/a><\/strong> This association is committed to the protection of this typical legume, harvested and processed by hand. It owes its name to its characteristic of cooking quickly and is cultivated on an area of eight hectares, particularly in the Collicello fraction of Amelia.<\/p>

Also representing Amelia will be two other producers:<\/strong> Cantine Zanchi<\/strong><\/a> with their wines, including the noteworthy Ciliegiolo<\/strong> dell\u2019Umbria, obtained from the homonymous black grape variety, which derives its name from its characteristic fruity aroma, reminiscent of cherries, as well as Malvasia, Grechetto, Aleatico, Trebbiano, and Sangiovese; and Frantoio Suatoni<\/a><\/strong>, who will present their extra virgin olive oil made from the native Rajo cultivar.<\/p>

The tasting journey will also include the wines from Cantina Sandonna di Giove<\/a> (TR)<\/strong>, which, avoiding invasive winemaking practices, produces its wines starting from the cultivation of traditional local varieties such as Grechetto and Ciliegiolo. These wines fully exploit the geological and climatic potential of the Sandonna plateau. Additionally, there will be quality cured meats from Azienda Tamburini<\/a><\/strong> in Montecastrilli (TR).<\/p>

The synergy between the Amerino Tipico project and the “Umbria Primavera in Cammino” festival is born to combine the tourist experience with the culinary one. This collaboration will conclude with the walk scheduled for Monday, April 24th, in Montecastrilli (TR)<\/strong>, and will have its final seal on Tuesday, April 25th, with the meeting “Towards the Food District<\/strong>” at the Agricollina Fair in Montecastrilli (TR). During this event, premises and objectives of the Amerino Tipico project will be discussed.<\/p>

Amerino Tipico – “Amerino\u00a9: Integrated Actions for the Territorial Food Strategy of the Amerino Landscape”<\/strong> is the new territorial development project aimed at enhancing food as a key element for territorial innovation. It focuses on cooperation between public and private entities in the territory to build the “Amerino\u00a9” brand as a driving force for the region itself. This project offers a new opportunity to narrate the Amerino landscape, promoted by the municipalities of Amelia, Alviano, Attigliano, Avigliano Umbro, Baschi, Giove, Guardea, Lugnano in Teverina, Montecastrilli, Montecchio, and Penna in Teverina.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
